Fans of anything Disney, get ready for the D23 Expo. From September 10 through 13 at the Anaheim Convention Center, Disney will be holding its first “Ultimate Disney Fan Experience.” The four day event will feature film and television previews and screenings, panel presentations, and a variety of events that will allow attendees to immerse themselves into the World of Disney.
D23, the official community for Disney fans, was launched this year, and is named in honor of the year 1923, when Walt Disney founded what is now Disney Studios. This year marks the first D23 Expo, and looks to feature something for everyone.
Some of the scheduled events includes screenings of Disney films in Digital 3D, including The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Toy Story and Toy Story 2. Additionally, attendees can look forward to checking out previews of highly-anticipated upcoming films, Disney’s A Christmas Carol, Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, Old Dogs (with Robin Williams and John Travolta), Prince of Persia and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (both from producer Jerry Bruckheimer), Tron: Legacy, The Princess and the Frog, and Toy Story 3.

Also, set to appear are some of Disney’s television stars, including Tom Bergeron, Patricia Heaton, Kelsey Grammer, Ed O’Neill, Joseph Fiennes, and Cheryl Burke.
Among some of the exclusive looks behind the scenes at Disney’s Parks and Resorts, Disney is planning on letting attendees “backstage” to check out set pieces, props, costumes, and other collectors’ items from the television series, Lost.

I guess my question is if it’s truly a fan expo than why isn’t Disney bringing in all 3 original stars of TRON for the digital screening of it? It’s a pretty big deal considering the movie was made over 27 years ago and it’s now getting a sequel.
I’m certain the many fans would love to meet & greet with them on September 11th when they’re screening it.

Hey Randy, I agree – it would be awesome to see the stars from the upcoming films (including Tron). I did see them at Comic-Con last month, so who knows if Disney is going to surprise attendees with special guests?

I haven’t heard from Kelsey Grammer since “Frasier” and “Down Periscope”… that’s great news! I’m very excited to see the trailer for “Prince of Persia”; I remember playing that game – one of my favorites. Disney is just terrific for hosting this event!

When I decided to pay a premium price for a 3D blockbuster I expected a memorable picture. Besides the fact that Johnny Deep plays a great role as usual and H.B. Carter also has a nice performance the overall plot is dull and static. I believe that because they had to “improvise” and write a new story continuing the original one, the quality of the screenplay and plot decreased significantly. Although there are some funny moments and well written lines for the main characters, many of the others pass by unnoticed. Overall it was a nice, entertaining flick with average 3D effects, way below Avatar, and a simple, uncomplicated plot. Also it was rather short since I expected 120 minutes at least and not 100. Finally I would this movie performed below my expectations. A 7/10 would be a fair grade in my honest opinion.
