e3-xbp-2009-sign-tnE3 2009…What a great year for Xbox fans and for Microsoft, the company who brought us one of the most exciting entertainment devices in the world.

While many may argue that there were more monumental years, such as the release of the Xbox 360, Halo, or Gears of War launches, this year had not only games but new services and innovation. We really enjoyed the press conference and the return of the E3 show floor. The sights and sounds were back in full force and the people were excited and ready for the show they know can deliver the goods.

We saw games that excited the mind as well as the body. Social networking services that keep us connected and a future that may have us standing up while we play. Which can be a good thing for us motivationally challenged potbellied fun seekers (me). The Microsoft Press conference was surely one to remember and I’ll never forget the sight of Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr announcing we have a video game…classic.

Of all the things we saw at E3, however, there were the people whom really made this E3 special.

Thanks to…the Microsoft crew Eric, Jake, Aaron, Larry, Dan B. The Promethium gang, Chris, Nelson & Tony for hosting the Windows 7 event & being genuinely cool people. The Xbox MVPs, Rick, Ed, Megan, Peench, Sarkis, Danny, David, Eric, Chuck, Jimmy, James, Parris & anyone else I’m forgetting, you guys deserve a trophy on Xbox Live ;) The developers and publishers of all our favorite games, Alan Wake, Forza 3, Rock Band, Bayonetta, Splinter Cell, Halo ODST & more. All of Turn 10 guys and Dan & Che for hosting an amazing party, as well as my man Darron for hooking us up. Liana Kerzner for doing an amazing interview and photo shoot at the MS booth.

And a very special thanks to Rick & Carrie for their friendship, hospitality, generosity and warm hearted spirit. Two genuinely special people that are always welcome in our home any time. Thank you!

This year was another one for the record books and we can be happy that we have such a great Xbox community, a great hobby and industry that we can hang out, have fun and enjoy ourselves. Keep on grabbing that controller, chatting it up with friends and fragging those bad guys. Cause it’s time have a good time and play…together. Until next year, keep those thumbs warmed up.
