Every year gamers salivate, contemplate and post HUGE FORUM THREADS on video game sites like TeamXbox , about their anticipation, hopes and fantasies for the biggest videogaming extravaganza in the world…E3. Although in the last few years, as some of you are well aware if, it was less extravaganza and more or less a mildly amusing yet lacking bonanza of a business summit.
Industry heavy hitters like Peter Moore were very critical of E3’s demise to a hollow shell of the formerly glorified spectacle, basically calling the last conference and it’s atmosphere akin to being at hospital…FUN! Can this years E3 make a come back? Are we ready for gigantically elaborate show floor booths, eardrum busting sound systems, ginormous (yes, I said GINORMOUS) monitors, schwag gifts (Yes please, thank you!) and…. *drum roll please*…BOOTH BABES?!?!
*crickets chirping*
OK, so maybe not the booth babes, at least not the babes in outfits whom offend our sensible cosplay compadres from Japan.
You have to imagine that this year has great potential to invigorate, stimulate and titillate even the most jaded hardcore fanboys out there. Well, maybe not all of hardcore gamers out there…just the freaks. With the big three making statements of their triumphant return to the “exciting” EXPO (not business summit), are we’re really going to see huge masses of the gaming faithful busting through the Los Angeles Convention Center doors on their way to gaming nirvana? We here at Xbox Pulse wholeheartedly hope that this years gaming mecca returns to the roots, the core, the fundamentals of fervent fantasy, fun and frivolity that made E3…well.. E3!
As time ticks down toward the zero hour are we ready for that former glory, that spectacle, that almighty gaming shrine to rise from the ashes? I certainly am and you should be too. BRING IT ON!
