Video gaming… what makes it so compelling?
Is it the competition, the challenge, the journey?
Do we want to escape to another world, an alternative reality, can we learn something about this reality….from a game?
Something so simple?
Whatever the feeling or thought, games have made this modern tech culture thrive on new and old experiences.
Ones that have given man his thirst for competition.
The same deep hunger that has driven man to seek out challenge since the dawning of time.
But instead of the physical plane, we take a mental excursion.
To the limits of the imagination and somehow, not that far away.
We see ourselves as heroes…victors, in the moment.
Sharing our triumphs and sorrows on the information highway.
Friends we make along the journey share in the power of the game.
For we all thrive on it, we all thirst for it, it makes us one… a team.
As a team we also compete for that one feeling, that passion for the power.
If we somehow lose faith that we can obtain the power, we set the controller down, shut off the system and return yet again to face the world…where we have so little power.
The power of the game is the feeling that we can experience control, to hold on to it, to make it real, to win.
Can we feel the power? Certainly, it’s in all of us, time to play.
