On a cold Southern California night, what seemed like nearly a thousand Street Fighter fans gathered at the Geffen Contemporary at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, where Capcom hosted one of the biggest, most impressive launch events this humble gamer has ever seen. The venue, a remarkably huge building, was transformed from a museum of modern art into a Street Fighter Mecca, fittingly, in the heart of Little Tokyo.  Gamers reveled at the number of Xbox 360 and Playstation3 systems available to get their first experience with Street Fighter IV. In addition to the gaming, Street Fighter artwork was displayed everywhere (with artists available to sign autographs), and screenings of the new Street Fighter anime “The Ties That Bind” added to create an amazing experience for attendees. To add to the already overloaded senses, Capcom booked musical talents The Knux, DJ QBert, and a performance from Supreme Soul, who all performed center stage, keeping the party going until midnight. One of the biggest surprises of the event however was the arrival of many of the stars of the upcoming film, “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li,” among many other entertainers, including Carlos Ferro and Mighty Rasta, voice actors from the Gears of War series. Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg was also there to enjoy the festivities. This launch event was spectacular in every way, with tons of gaming stations to play Street Fighter IV, top notch entertainment, and an atmosphere that satisfied every Street Fighter fanatic; Capcom absolutely pulled out all the stops. But what was most remarkable about the event was that everyone in the public was invited. There were no restrictions as to who was allowed to partake in the ultimate Street Fighter experience. Street Fighter IV is already receiving critical acclaim, and there is no doubt from the reception at the launch event, gamers will find this version to be the best Street Fighter title ever.  Street Fighter IV is set to release on February 17, 2009.
